APPOINTMENT OF MR TONY DALOISIO AS A MEMBER OF THE AUSTRALIAN SECURITIES AND INVESTMENTS COMMISSION (ASIC)

The Australian Government is pleased to announce that on 1 November 2006, the Governor-General appointed Mr Tony D’Aloisio as a full‑time member (Commissioner) of ASIC for three years.

Mr D’Aloisio’s appointment will be from 22 November 2006 until 21 November 2009.

Mr D’Aloisio has been involved in business policy and regulation for over 30 years and he is well qualified to fill this position.

The Government’s decision to appoint Mr D’Aloisio follows consultations with the Ministerial Council for Corporations.
