Contribution to Brendans Fund
The Treasurer announced today that the Australian Government will provide a one‑off grant of $350,000 to Brendan’s Fund, a trust fund established to provide financial support to the widow and three young children of the late Brendan Keilar.
Brendan Keilar was murdered in the Central Business District of Melbourne when he selflessly went to the aid of a woman being brutally assaulted on 18 June 2007.
His intervention showed remarkable bravery. It was a demonstration of public spirit and an example to our community. This contribution by the Australian Government adds to a contribution from the Victorian Government.
