FOREIGN INVESTMENT REVIEW BOARD: RE-APPOINTMENT OF MR JOHN PHILLIPS,

AM

The Treasurer announced today the re-appointment of Mr John Phillips, AM as

Chairman of the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) for a further term five-year

term.

Mr Phillips joined the FIRB in April 1997, and has made valuable contributions

to the Board and the administration of policy since this time. He has considerable

business experience across a number of sectors, is currently Chairman of AGL

and IBJ Australia Bank Limited and a member of the Prime Minister’s Task Force

on International Financial Reform.

The other members of the FIRB are Ms Lynn Wood; The Hon Chris Miles and Dr Jim

Hagan, Executive Member.
