The Federal Member for Higgins, Peter Costello, was today pleased to announce that the Camberwell City RSL Sub-branch has been approved for a Veteran and Community Grant to help meet the cost of upgrading the toilet facilities and kitchen appliances.

“This grant of $18,935 will ensure that the existing hall, which was built in the 1960s, is being upgraded to be able to handle large community events, such as morning and afternoon teas, and also to improve wheelchair access for their veterans”, Mr Costello said.

“These renovations are part of a broader plan to set up a Day Club to support veterans in the local area”, Mr Costello said.

“RSLs and veterans play an important role in our community and I am delighted to support this grant”, Mr Costello said.
