Appointment of ACCC Deputy Chair

APPOINTMENT OF ACCC DEPUTY CHAIR

Ms Louise Sylvan has received the required support for appointment as Deputy Chair of the ACCC following consultations with all States and Territories.

I welcome the support that Ms Sylvan has received and will be recommending her appointment to the Governor-General.

Ms Sylvan has considerable experience in consumer and competition issues. She is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Consumers Association and Chair of Consumers International.

She holds a Master of Public Administration degree and has been a member of numerous government committees.
