Wayne Swan Admits Economy Not His Strong Suit

Shadow Treasurer Wayne Swan has today admitted what most people have long suspected: economics is not his strong suit.

Confronted on ABC radio by a Government Minister who has known him for many years, Mr Swan confirmed as much:

Brandis: Wayne, I’ve known you since you were 19 years old. You’re a very formidable political apparatchik, but I’m afraid economics has never been your long suit, with respect.

Swan: Well, George, it hasn’t been yours either.” (ABC radio Sept 5)

The difference is that Senator Brandis is not asking the Australian people to trust him to manage Australia’s trillion dollar economy.

Australian jobs, businesses and mortgages depend on an economic steward with experience and a track record of economic management.

Mr Swan has confirmed with his own mouth that that person is not him.
