TREASURER: Good morning. Tonights Budget will continue the Governments good economic management. Well be paying off further debts, well be strengthening the financial position, and well be also helping families, particularly families in rural areas, with targetted measures, responsible measures, which continues the Governments good economic decision making.
JOURNALIST: Will a billion and a half dollars be enough to assuage the concerns of people in rural Australia?
TREASURER: What well be doing is, well be continuing good economic management, and that brings benefits for families and for regional areas. And therell be targetted measures. Well spent, carefully targetted measures, which will be consistent with good economic management. And thats where were going to pitch the Budget. Thanks. |
